We’re live!!
We’re live!!
My fabrics are installed at Studio 534!
Yesterday, in the midst of a huge March snow storm, I schlepped my first fabric wings in to the Boston Design Center. The weather could not deter me, I was so excited to actually be hanging Mally Skok Design fabrics in the chicest and utterly coolest showroom in Boston - Studio 534. Josh and Leigh have been so relaxed and fun to work with; they were even good sports about having to pose for my blog pictures - that’s my ‘Samode’ wing in the background.

I am in the most extraordinary company in Studio 534. Peter Dunham - (an L.A. designer, love his stuff)- is my immediate neighbour. Kathryn Ireland is over the road, and just down the wing block is Michael Smith!! You don’t have to be an interior design nut to know that Michelle and Barack are getting him to do their quarters in the White House. He is a legend, actually, the thought of it makes me quite nervous, how the hell did I get there??
Too late to panic now, those are all my fabric swatches sitting out on a table in the front of the show room in Studio 534.
That’’s ‘Nichola’ in gold that Leigh has over her shoulder, looks quite good.
Being a fabric designing entrepreneur is taking its toll on my poor house, look at the state of my dining room! I am going to have to have a big dinner party - that’ll force me to do something about the ever increasing sprawl of fabric samples and strike off’s from Peter Fasano’ s studio that cover every surface. Oh what the hoo, I’m having the time of my life!
Our store room in the basement is really filling up. If you’re in the area, drop by and come and have a look.
Before I go, I wanted to let my Boston pals know that I traveled down to New York this morning on the Limoliner. Its actually just a fancy name for a bus, but the seats are comfortable, the loo is clean and there is wifi. Only problem I found is that its a bit bumpy - I went green trying to do my email. It drops you at the Hilton in mid town Manhattan, which is just where I wanted to be. I have an appointment to show my fabrics to a very fancy show room in the D and D building. Hold thumbs for me!
The view from my seat in the Limoliner.
